Relaxation & Wellness

Not far from the imposing Trausnitz Castle, the Landshut Salt Grotto offers a special oasis of relaxation. The grotto, created from several tonnes of Himalayan natural salt, invites you to switch off for a while and enjoy the beneficial effects of the salty air.

Unique facilities and relaxing ambience

The salt grotto is designed to relax body and mind in equal measure. With a constant room climate of 20 to 22 degrees and a humidity of around 50 per cent, a pleasant environment is created here that supports the effect of the brine. The medical brine nebuliser and a graduation tower enrich the air with valuable minerals. Dimmed lighting, a calming starry sky and soft music create an additional atmosphere of tranquillity. Eight comfortable loungers are available so that you can relax and enjoy the salty air.

Healing powers of salt

Salt has been used as a natural remedy for thousands of years: it was used for medicinal purposes in Egypt as early as 4,500 BC. The air in the Landshut salt cave contains minerals such as iodine, magnesium, calcium, potassium and zinc, which are known for their positive effects on the respiratory tract, blood circulation and general well-being. A visit to the grotto can help support your respiratory system, promote skin health and induce mental relaxation.

Family offers in the salt cave

The Landshut Salt Grotto offers special appointments for families with children, where the little ones can play in the salt while breathing in the health-promoting, salty air. For children and babies in particular, the climate in the grotto can have a beneficial effect on the respiratory tract and stimulate blood circulation.

Feasting after relaxing

After a relaxing visit to the salt cave, the Zollhaus invites you to enjoy a culinary treat. Just a few minutes away, you can enjoy a modern interpretation of Bavarian cuisine, prepared with high-quality, regional and seasonal ingredients from local producers. The informal ambience creates a cosy atmosphere in which tradition and comfort take centre stage.

A special highlight at the Zollhaus is the Kriminal Dinner: guests experience Bavarian evening entertainment in the form of a humorous pub thriller. During a delicious meal, the "SOKO Original Wirtshauskrimi" solves an exciting case together with the guests.
