Family-friendly cross-country skiing tour in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park

The Hans Reicherl loop from Oberammergau towards Ettaler Mühle is ideal for the whole family: 7.5 kilometres long, with moderate gradients and wide lanes. The excursion starts at Oberammergau railway station. It is about a five-minute walk to the start of the cross-country ski trail: Once you arrive at the station, walk about 100 metres along Bahnhofstraße towards Ammer and turn right into Reisachweg. Here you will also find the local sports equipment dealer Sport-Zentrale Papistock, where you can hire the necessary equipment if required. From the hire shop, you can reach the start of the cross-country ski trail for the Weidmoos circuit after 250 metres along the Ammer.

A cross-country skiing tour is the ideal family event: on an easy route with just a few metres in altitude, children can keep up with the fitness level and are guaranteed to have lots of fun with cross-country skis on their feet. The almost 7.5-kilometre round tour takes you along the Ammer and through the Ettaler Weidmoos nature reserve. The tour is categorised as easy and takes around 30 minutes. On sunny days, the route hardly leads you into shady sections and once again impresses with its picturesque landscape panorama. Round off your cross-country skiing excursion in the cosy restaurant before setting off on your return journey from Oberammergau train station, 80 metres away.
